XP (short for experience points) are needed to gain levels in multiplayer, which in turn unlocks weapons, class perks, equipment and loadout slots. The amount of XP earned depends on the player's actions. Point gains and requirements are listed below.

Base XP[edit | edit source]

Xp kills.png Kills The number of opponents you got the killing blow against. (50 XP)
Xp assists.png Assists The number of opponents you injured that were later killed by someone else. (XP varies)
Xp capture.png Point Capture Successfully capture an opponent point in Seize Ground. (200 XP)
Xp uncapture.png Point Uncapture Successfully uncapture an opponent point in Seize Ground. (50 XP)

Bonus XP[edit | edit source]

Xp deathfromabove.png Death From Above Kill an opponent with a Jump Pack ground pound.
Xp headshot.png Headshot Kill an opponent with a headshot. (35 XP)
Xp deathfrombelow.png Death From below Kill an opposing Assault Marine or Raptor while they are in the air or just jumping away. (50 XP)
Xp variety.png Variety Kill an opponent using at least two different weapons or abilities. (15 XP)
Xp grudge.png Grudge Kill the same opponent at least five times in a single round.
Xp revenge.png Revenge Kill the opponent who most recently killed you without them dying in the interim. (50 XP)
Xp avenger.png Avenger Kill an opponent who has recently killed a teammate. (25 XP)
Xp savior.png Savior Kill an opponent who is damaging or has recently damaged a teammate. (50 XP)
Xp doublekill.png Double Kill Kill two opponents within a short period of time. (100 XP)
Xp triplekill.png Triple Kill Kill three opponents within a short period of time.
Xp quadkill.png Quad Kill Kill four opponents within a short period of time.
Xp megakill.png Mega Kill Kill five or more opponents within a short period of time.
Xp killstreak.png Killstreak Kill at least three opponents in a row without dying. (XP varies)
Xp roundwin.png Round Win Defeat the opposing team in a multiplayer game. (250 XP)
Xp longshot.png Long Shot Kill an opponent from an extreme distance.
Xp victoryindeath.png Victory In Death Kill an opponent after you have been killed and before you have returned to the game.
Xp reinforcement.png Reinforcement Have a teammate teleport to your location while you have the 'Teleport Homer' equipped.
